Introducing Touche Boutique...

Blog post boutique fashion interview news Touche

Good Afternoon, here is our first blog post!!

We hope you are all keeping warm as the weather gets colder and are getting ready for the countdown to (dare we say it) Christmas! We have just launched our first collection at Touche Boutique and we are so excited to share it with you. We have some gorgeous garments that will keep you warm and stylish throughout winter, and some party pieces ready for the festive season. In our first blog post we thought we would just tell you a little more about Touche Boutique and have a quick interview with Touche Boutique's founder, designer and maker, Tammy Chick.

Touche Boutique was created by Tammy after she has worked in fashion for over twenty years and decided to venture on her own. Each garment is carefully designed and made by hand at our HQ in Leicestershire. At Touche Boutique we like to keep it local and so we always try and use UK suppliers to benefit local businesses. Touche Boutique offers a wide range of ladies fashion from sizes 8-16 for formal and casual occasions. What is unique about Touche Boutique though is that we also offer bespoke sizing, you can request your size on the website and it will be handmade to order for you! Now you know a little bit more about Touche let's learn more about our founder Tammy.

-Why did you call your boutique Touche?

I wanted to create fashion that you looked at and would say 'touche'. Fashion that looks so good it can't be topped haha. I like the sassiness of the word.

-Why is it important to you to use UK suppliers?

I think it is really important to keep the business as local as possible to support the community. Sometimes it can be hard being a small business competing with the high street giants so we want to keep everything local to support each other and help keep local people in their jobs.

-What is your favourite thing about being a fashion designer?

I think fashion is a great way to express your personal style and creativity. Sometimes people find it hard to express their style so I enjoy helping people express their personalities. It is also a great career to meet people. I enjoy seeing a garment from start to the finished product and meeting all sorts of people along the way.

-Do you have any advice for aspiring fashion designers?

Look for inspiration everywhere. You don't just have to look at clothes for new ideas. In fact the best ideas can come from the strangest of places. Go to art galleries, travel to new places and experience the cultures, even just a country walk can give you inspiration. It can be a very tough industry to break into but just make sure you persevere.

-Any top style tips for winter?

Layering is always a good one to keep warm and stylish. Like our sleeveless waterfall cardi. Pair it with a bright jumper underneath for an on trend look. Obviously for the festive season it's all about the sparkle, the more the better! Keep an eye out on our website we will be releasing some very glitzy pieces soon ready for Christmas.

-And finally, what are your favourite 3 Touche Boutique garments?

Can I say all of them? haha... Um I love the satin front tropical tee because of the gorgeous bright print. I think the burnout aztec skater dresses are great for a day or night look because of the unique print and the material is so comfy! My last favourite would be the sheer ribbed dress. It's so on trend at the minute and will take you right through all your winter parties!
